About Citizen Toolbox
Citizen Toolbox's purpose is to help all people (whether a citizen or not) to have the tools to understand and engage in government policy making. Because government policies are often complex and frequently use arcane language unfamiliar to most of the public combined with the decline in local reporting to put the issues into plain talk, there is an all-hands-on-deck need to improve public understanding.
To make matters worse, governments increasingly embed their policies within complex formulas and algorithms that make understanding and biases increasingly opaque and unchallengeable.
We choose the Center for the Study of Citizenship definition from the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of citizenship: "membership in a community".clas.wayne.edu/Citizenship/Definition-of-Citizenship
